This week has been pretty alright weather-wise so far, but let's face facts: for the most part, the weather this summer has been brutal. The local meterology report told me we hit 200 degrees Fahrenheit at least 35 times in the past month. Additionally, we had an earthquake this week. I didn't know that the Dog Days of Summer traditionally included tectonic plate events, but I was apparently wrong.
Brightest Young Things wants to work toward rectifying all of this for us. That's why they're hosting a Dog Days of Summer Roof Terrace BBQ and Beer Bash at the Kennedy Center (ooh, classy!). This shindig goes down tomorrow night, August 25 from 7pm to 11pm.
$40 gets you in the door with unlimited access to all of the following:
- Brews provided by Old Dominion Brewing Co., Fordham Brewing Co., Port City Brewing, and DC Brau. Styles include IPAs, hefeweizens, amber ales, and more!
- Food from the open bit BBQ grill where executive chef Joe Gurner will be cooking.
- DC's own DJ RASKAL of Fort Knox Five and Thunderball, who will be spinning the tunes on the decks all on top of the Kennedy Center's outdoor Roof Terrace with panoramic views of the city.
- A chance to win prizes, which will be handed out all night long.
And since I know someone will ask about this: no, there is not a dress code. Just an opportunity to have a good time and unwind.

And above all else, have a good time. You've earned it!
